Install a NEW gasket (1) on the cylinder head cover.


       
    1. The spark plug tube seals (2) can be reused if not damaged.


       
    1. Clean the variable valve actuator assembly, camshaft caps, camshaft housing and cylinder head cover mating surfaces with isopropyl alcohol in preparation for sealant application.

      CAUTION:

      Engine assembly requires the use of a unique sealant that is compatible with engine oil. Using a sealant other than Mopar® Engine Sealant RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive may result in engine fluid leakage.

      CAUTION:

      Following the application of Mopar® Engine Sealant RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive to the gasket surfaces, the components must be assembled within 10 minutes and the attaching fasteners must be tightened to specification within the next 10 minutes. Prolonged exposure to the air prior to assembly may result in engine fluid leakage.


       
    1. Apply a 2 to 3 mm wide bead of Mopar® Engine RTV GEN II sealant (1) to the cylinder head cover T-joints as shown.


       
    1. Install the cylinder head cover with twelve bolts. Tighten the twelve bolts in two steps following the sequence shown:

      • Step 1: All to 5 N·m (44 in. lbs.).
      • Step 2: All to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.).



       
    1. Install the upper timing belt cover and tighten the bolt (1) to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.).


       
    1. Install the turbocharger support bracket (1a). Tighten one nut (1c), two bolts (1b) to 25 N·m (18 ft. lbs.).

       
    1. Install the manifold support bracket and securely tighten the fasteners.

       
    1. Install the intake manifold support bracket and securely tighten the bolts.

       
    1. Engage the fuel vapor solenoid valve to the retaining bracket.

       
    1. Engage the tubes and close the clips.

       
    1. Install the ignition coils and tighten the bolts (1) to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.).

       
    1. Connect the ignition coils wire harness connections (2).

       
    1. Install the ground terminal bolt (3) and tighten the to 9 N·m (80 in. lbs.).


       
    1. Using a NEW O-ring seal, install the oil vapor separator and tighten the bolts (1) to 13 N·m (10 ft. lbs.).


       
    1. Install the engine oil vapor pipe middle bracket bolt (1) and securely tighten.


       
    1. Connect the oil vapor recovery pipe and tighten the clamp (1).


       
    1. Connect the idle oil vapor delivery pipe and tighten the clamp (1).

       
    1. Install the turbocharger air intake hose and tighten the band clamp.

       
    1. Connect the air return pipe to the wastegate control solenoid valve, tighten the clamp and closed the retaining clip.

       
    1. Connect the engine oil vapor pipes and tighten the clamps.

       
    1. Close the retaining clip and engage the wastegate actuator air control tube.

       
    1. Connect the air hose to the air cleaner body and tighten the band clamp (1).

       
    1. Install the wire harness retainer bracket and securely tighten the bolts.

       
    1. Connect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor wire harness connector (1).

       
    1. Connect the engine oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).


       
    1. Engage the wire harness to the retaining clips (1).

       
    1. Install the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hose from the throttle body

       
    1. Install the vehicle battery

       
    1. Install the engine cover.

     
  1. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature and check for leaks.
